QEP Learning Community (LIB-Kentucky Room) In-Person

We ask students to be vulnerable in the writing-intensive classroom: sharing their deeply-held beliefs both in writing and during class discussion. In this space, how do we respond to the emotional reactions that students have toward one another and toward the subject matter? What is a trauma-informed model for responding to student writing given the ever-growing population of students with mental health issues? Finally, how do we react when a student triggers our own emotions in front of the class? In this workshop, we will explore these questions and share our strategies with one another. The 2018-2019 schedule:

  • February 11
  • April 1
  • May 20

RSVP is required.
